Porsche 718 Cayman

Recently purchased a 2019 718 Cayman. I expected it to have Apple CarPlay, but when I plug into the USB in the center console, the only option I get is iPad. The car has Bose and Navigation, but not the phone box. Is there anything like a software update available that will enable CarPlay through the center console USB? Sadly, the dealer has not been much help. TIA for any help.
