Market & Values

Evidence first. Asking prices, bids, reported sales and licensed valuations are shown side by side and never blended into a single made-up number.

The evidence types

Every price in this app carries exactly one of these labels. Statistics are computed within a single label and a single currency.

  • Asking price

What a seller is asking today, at a stated source.

    Not what anyone paid.

  • Current bid

The bid showing on a live auction when we checked.

Not a purchase price or a sale result.

  • Bid (reserve not met)

The high bid on a lot that did not sell.

    Never counts as a sale.

  • Reported sale

A sale result published by the venue or provider, with date and source.

Fees and premiums are unknown unless stated.

  • Last asking (withdrawn/expired)

The last asking price before a listing disappeared.

    Disappearing is not selling.

  • Provider-inferred sale

    A provider's inference that a car sold, e.g. from a listing vanishing.

Not a confirmed transaction; shown separately.

  • Licensed valuation

A valuation from a licensed guide, when a display contract exists.

Not an appraisal or a guaranteed price.

  • Owner estimate

What an owner believes their car is worth.

Kept private to the garage; never enters market statistics.

  • App estimate

Reserved for a future, documented model. Not produced today.

Never invented from asking prices or general knowledge.

How we calculate

Median is the middle observation (mean of the two middle values for an even count). Percentiles use R-7 linear interpolation. Fewer than five comparable observations of one type means we show the individual comps only and no summary. A band of asking prices is a distribution of asks, not a confidence interval for value. There is no app estimate.
