I’d been to Comet Mine before, but I hadn’t seen everything they left behind. This time, Luna and I take the Jeep and trailer into Nevada’s mining country for a closer look—and find a rocky descent that has me getting out to walk the trail first. From lakeside camping at Pahranagat National Wildlife Refuge to the old machinery at Comet Mine and the Bristol Well charcoal kilns, there’s plenty to explore out here.
